Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has approved several road projects for Uttarakhand. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met with Gadkari in New Delhi to seek approval for a project to widen National Highway No-123 from Damta to Barkot, which will connect Yamunotri Dham. This route is an alternative route for the Chardham Yatra pilgrimage. They also discussed other road connectivity projects in Uttarakhand.

Dhami also requested that a bypass be constructed for Khatima-Pilibhit by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). He asked Gadkari to provide funds for repairing the national highways damaged by calamities in the hilly areas of Uttarakhand.
