    Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy stated that the Congress government in Telangana has shown within a month how public governance should be in the state. He mentioned that people feel like Telangana has gained a new independence after the end of a dictatorial rule. The Minister spoke to the media to mark the completion of one month in office for the Congress government.

    During this one month tenure, elected representatives and officials were accessible to the people, and the government worked according to the aspirations of the public. The Minister conducted reviews in the Irrigation and Civil Supplies departments and disclosed misuse of public funds by the previous government. He also visited Medigadda barrage and urged the Chief Minister to order a judicial inquiry into irregularities in the construction of the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP) scheme.

    Uttam Kumar Reddy mentioned that he went to Delhi with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to meet and appeal to the Union Water Resources Ministry for national status for the Palamuru Rangareddy project. The government has taken measures to provide irrigation water to farmers in the state. The Minister also informed about the accumulated debts of over Rs 58,000 Crores in the Civil Supplies Department due to misgovernance by the previous regime. He highlighted that the rice supplied to the poor by the previous government was of inferior quality and not edible.

    Uttam Kumar Reddy promised transparency and accountability in the Irrigation and Civil Supplies department, ensuring that the government will work in the best interests of the people of Telangana.
