    Huzurnagar: Minister for Irrigation and Civil Supplies, Uttam Kumar Reddy, welcomed the New Year in a unique and heartfelt way by spending time with undertrial prisoners and students living away from home. His gesture aimed to bring hope and encouragement to those often overlooked by society.

    The minister visited the sub-jail in Huzurnagar, where he interacted with the prisoners, listened to their concerns, and shared breakfast with them. He assured the inmates that he would address their grievances with the relevant authorities. In response to their request for a television set, he announced that he would personally donate one for their use. The minister’s compassionate approach left a deep impression on the prisoners, making it a memorable and uplifting start to the year.

    Later, Uttam Kumar Reddy, accompanied by Kodad MLA N. Padmavathi, visited the Minorities Residential School and Junior College for Girls in Kodad. They spent time with the students, shared a meal, and encouraged them to stay focused on their studies. The minister praised the students for their dedication and resilience despite being away from their families.

    The students were overjoyed by the visit and shared their experiences with the minister. They expressed their gratitude for his support and motivation, which further boosted their morale.

    Speaking to the media, Uttam Kumar Reddy explained why he chose to spend New Year’s Eve outside his home. “This is a time for reflection and renewal. By reaching out to those in challenging circumstances, whether they are prisoners or students separated from their families, we remind them that they are not forgotten. This is my way of starting the year with hope and togetherness,” he said.
