The centralised kitchen of the Akshaya Patra Foundation in Narsingi is getting upgraded to serve more beneficiaries. The upgrades will help the kitchen serve 50,000 people, up from the current 37,000.
Gemini Edibles and Fats India donated Rs 2 crore for the upgrades. They also donated three Electric Vehicles (EVs) to the Narsingi kitchen.
Satya Gaura Chandra Dasa, unit president and trustee of Akshaya Patra, said that the modernisation of the kitchen is a big step forward in their mission. The improved facilities and EVs will increase efficiency and sustainability in serving children.
P Chandrashekhara Reddy, senior VP of Gemini Edibles and Fats India Ltd, mentioned that the upgraded kitchen will provide nutritious meals to underprivileged students. The EVs will help distribute meals to more schools in a sustainable way.
