Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has asked officials to finalize the Telangana Sports Policy by the end of November. He emphasized that the policy should be the best in the country. To achieve this, he urged officials to conduct a detailed study and seek advice from sports experts and famous athletes.
During a review meeting on the proposed sports policy, the CM also instructed officials to efficiently use the state’s sports resources and upgrade existing stadiums and sports complexes to meet future needs.
Revanth Reddy also asked officials to speed up the process of drafting the bill for the Young India Sports University. The officials briefed him on the details of the Young India Physical Education and Sports University (YIPESU), Young India Sports Academy (YISA), and the Sports Authority of Telangana (SATG), all of which are part of the new sports policy. The CM suggested some changes and expressed his hope that Telangana’s sports policy would be the best in the country.
The CM shared insights from his recent visit to South Korea’s national Sports University. He asked officials to consider the discussions that Ministers P Srinivas Reddy, P Prabhakar, and State Advisor V Narendar Reddy had with representatives from Korea University. He also recommended studying the sports policy of the University of Queensland in Australia, which is known for its excellence in sports, along with the South Korean Sports University.
Revanth Reddy directed officials to finalize the governing body for the sports policy within ten days. He also instructed them to create a sports calendar for national and international competitions. Lastly, he encouraged officials to reach out to the Indian Olympic Association to host the National Games in Telangana in the next two years.
