Speaking in Hyderabad on Friday, he emphasized the significance of this grand event and its role in showcasing the country’s rich heritage.

As part of the preparations, Maurya led an impressive roadshow in Hyderabad to raise awareness about the event. He described Maha Kumbh as a celebration of India’s diversity and unity and extended a heartfelt invitation to the people of Telangana to join the festivities in Prayagraj. Reflecting on the Prayagraj Kumbh held in 2019, Maurya pointed out its global acclaim for efficient management and grandeur. He assured that Maha Kumbh 2025 would surpass the previous event in both scale and divine experience. The event is expected to attract over 450 million pilgrims, saints, ascetics, and tourists from around the world.

The Maha Kumbh will take place in Prayagraj from January 13 to February 26, 2025. It will be held at the confluence of the sacred rivers Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati. Recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, the event returns to Prayag after a 12-year gap.

To accommodate the massive influx of visitors, the Uttar Pradesh government has made extensive preparations. A 100-bed hospital has been established at the Parade Ground, along with two additional 20-bed hospitals and smaller facilities with eight beds each. Maurya also shared that 35 permanent ghats and nine new ghats have been constructed to facilitate bathing for devotees. Aerial flower showers will be conducted across all 44 ghats covering a 12-kilometre area.

Additionally, a riverfront spanning 15.25 kilometres, inspired by Mumbai’s Marine Drive, has been developed along the Ganges. This scenic stretch extends from the Sangam to Nagvasuki Temple, adding to the grandeur of the event. Maurya expressed confidence that these efforts would ensure a divine and memorable experience for all participants.
