The University of Hyderabad (UoH) has been recognized as one of the world’s top universities for studying seven subjects. This recognition comes from the latest QS World University Rankings by Subject, which was released on Wednesday.
According to UoH officials, the university has secured rankings in seven subjects for the year 2025. These include English Language and Literature (251-300), Linguistics (301-350), Sociology (301-375), Chemistry (451-500), Economics and Econometrics (501-550), Physics and Astronomy (601-675), and Biological Sciences (651-700).
The QS World University Rankings by Subject is a respected global ranking system. It evaluates the performance of more than 18,300 university programs from over 1,700 universities in 100 locations worldwide. The rankings cover 55 different academic disciplines and provide a comparative analysis of universities based on their subject-wise performance.
Professor BJ Rao, Vice Chancellor of UoH, expressed his happiness about this achievement. He stated that the university is proud to be consistently featured in the QS rankings and aims to expand its presence by getting ranked in more subjects in the future.
