Parents Raise Concerns Over School Fees in Aija Mandal

In Aija mandal center, parents are upset about the high fees charged by private schools. Sri Chaitanya High School is at the center of these complaints. The school is charging Rs. 1500 for Transfer Certificates (TC) and bonafide certificates, which many parents find unreasonable, especially for students who have already paid all their dues.

The Mandal Education Officer, Narasimhulu, has taken action. He issued a notice to Sri Chaitanya High School after receiving many complaints. The notice asks for detailed information on the cost and list of class-wise textbooks, the condition and availability of school prayer spaces, playgrounds, and washrooms, as well as fire safety permission documents. The school has three days to respond or face consequences.

Exorbitant Book Prices and Hidden Costs

Since the new government took over, a new procedure for selling books was introduced in May. This change led to significant price hikes. Parents feel exploited as schools mark up prices and keep 40 percent of the book profits. They believe that education is being turned into a business.

Neglect of Government Orders and Right to Education Act

Many private schools in Aija mandal are selectively following regulations that benefit them, despite government orders and guidelines. For example, the Right to Education Act mandates that 25 percent of seats in the 1st class should be reserved for children from poor and weaker sections. However, compliance with this rule is questionable, and there is little transparency or accountability.

    Lack of Basic Facilities

Sri Chaitanya High School lacks basic amenities like a playground and enough toilets. This raises questions about how it got permission to operate. The Mandal Education Officer recently inspected the school and highlighted these deficiencies. He is pushing for immediate improvements and adherence to standards.

    Call for Vigilance and Regulation

The situation shows the urgent need for strict monitoring of private schools by district and mandal education officials. Parents’ complaints highlight issues of unchecked fee hikes and inadequate facilities. There is a call for a concerted effort to enforce regulations and protect the interests of students and their families.

As this story develops, the community is waiting to see how Sri Chaitanya High School and other private institutions will respond. They hope for more transparent and fair practices in the educational sector of Aija mandal.
