MLAs Meet with Ministers to Discuss Water Projects
A group of MLAs from the united district recently met with Telangana State Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy, Karnataka State Minister Bose Raj, and Government Advisor Venugopal at the state secretariat. During the meeting, the MLAs honored the ministers by presenting them with shawls and bouquets as a gesture of respect.
The main topic of discussion was inter-state water projects. Gadwal MLA Bandla Krishna Mohan Reddy shared that they discussed turning the Gattu Lift Irrigation Project into an inter-state project. This would help ensure a continuous water supply for both irrigation and drinking purposes in the future. The MLAs stressed the importance of planning in a way that would prevent any water shortages for the people and farmers of both Karnataka and Telangana.
MLA Bandla Krishna Mohan Reddy also mentioned that they are working to ensure that water is available for two crops, even during the dry summer season in the Gadwal region. The governments of Telangana and Karnataka, along with irrigation officials, are creating a long-term plan to solve water issues. The MLA added that they would soon bring this matter to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to speed up the project’s construction.
In addition, MLA Bandla Krishna Mohan Reddy met with Karnataka Minister and Telangana State Government Advisor Vem Narendra Reddy to discuss the project further. They agreed to bring the issue to the attention of the Chief Minister soon. The Irrigation Minister is expected to visit Gadwal shortly to inspect the progress of the project’s construction.
Several local leaders, including former MPP Vijay, ex-sarpanches Raghuvardhan Reddy, Prabhakar Goud, and Vasu, were also present at the meeting.
