Hyderabad: Union Minister for Forest and Environment, Bhupendra Yadav, has directed officials to quickly send a report about the Kancha Gachibowli lands.

This action came after a group of BJP leaders from Telangana met with the Minister on Tuesday. The group, led by BJP state president G Kishan Reddy, included MPs Bandi Sanjay Kumar, DK Aruna, Eatala Rajender, Dharmapuri Aravind, Konda Vishweshwar Reddy, G Nagesh, and Raghunandan Rao.

They submitted a petition asking the Minister to step in and protect the Kancha Gachibowli lands. They explained that around 400 acres in the area are important for the environment and have heritage value.

The MPs told the Minister that the area is home to many medicinal plants and different bird species. They raised concerns that the state government is trying to turn this land into real estate, which could harm the environment and help the government make huge profits.

They also said that many people in Hyderabad, including students from the University of Hyderabad, are against the government’s move. The group asked the Minister to act quickly to save the land.

In response, Bhupendra Yadav asked the Forest and Environment Department to submit a detailed report on the situation. He promised that suitable action would be taken once the report is reviewed.
