Union Minister Anurag Thakur praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his achievements in just 8 years, which he believes could not have been accomplished in the previous 60 years. Thakur specifically mentioned India’s successful lunar exploration mission, Chandrayaan-3, and various central schemes as examples of Modi’s accomplishments.
Thakur emphasized that Modi has steered India away from dynasticism and appeasement, which had dominated the country for a long time, and has set it on a path of development. He expressed pride in India being the first country to land a spacecraft on the Moon’s south pole. Thakur stated that what couldn’t be achieved in 60 years has been done in just 8 years under Modi’s leadership.
Speaking at a book release event titled “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas,” which contains select speeches by PM Modi, Thakur highlighted that India’s history of the last 75 years was plagued by dynasticism and appeasement. However, Modi has successfully steered the country away from these issues and focused on its development. Thakur mentioned that 4 crore people have received pucca houses, 12 crore women and families have been provided with toilets, and electricity has reached every village.
Thakur also mentioned that during the COVID-19 pandemic, 80 crore poor people received double ration for two and a half years. He added that in just three years, 12 crore people have gained access to piped water. Thakur praised Modi for implementing the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, which has provided free treatment worth Rs 5 lakh to 60 crore people in the last nine years. He also highlighted India’s success in digital payments, with 46% of the maximum transactions now taking place in the country through UPI and apps like BHIM.
Thakur emphasized the importance of youth and their role in India’s progress. He stated that Indian youth have become job providers, and the country now has over one lakh startups. Thakur also mentioned that India has the cheapest data in the world and is developing its own 5G technology, with plans for 6G in the future. He proudly announced that India has become the fifth largest economy in the world during its 75th year of Amrit Mahotsav.
Lastly, Thakur praised the progress made by Madhya Pradesh, stating that it has transformed from a “bimaru” state to one of the leading and progressive states in the country since the BJP government came into power. He highlighted the advancements in education, particularly in mother tongue, and mentioned that Madhya Pradesh is the only state where the syllabus for medical studies is prepared in Hindi.
