Union Minister Kishan Reddy Urges Telangana Government to Discuss with Victims Before HYDRA Demolitions
Union Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Development of the North Eastern Region, G. Kishan Reddy, has written a letter to Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. In the letter, he urged the state government to hold talks with the victims of the HYDRA demolition drive before moving forward with evictions.
Kishan Reddy expressed concern over the decision to demolish homes that have been standing for over 30 years. He pointed out that these homes are now being labeled as illegal, and questioned the fairness of such actions.
He highlighted the plight of the affected families, asking, “If the government demolishes homes built three decades ago, calling them illegal, where should the victims voice their suffering?” He stressed that it’s important for the government to listen to the people who are losing their homes.
In addition, the Union Minister called for action against those responsible for illegally selling the lands in the first place. He stated that they should be held accountable, and that strict measures should be taken against them.
Kishan Reddy also emphasized that simply evicting people without offering proper alternatives would leave them in a difficult and unfair situation. He urged the state to consider the needs of the families involved before going ahead with the demolition plans.
