Hyderabad: Union Minister Assures No Power Problems in Telangana
Union Urban Development, Power, and Housing Minister Manohar Lal Khattar assured the people of Telangana that there will be no electricity issues in the state. Speaking at a public meeting on Friday, he said, “I am also in charge of the electricity department. No one asked about electricity; however, as the Power Minister, I assure you that there will be no power problems in this state.” He also praised Telangana as a prosperous state and acknowledged the contributions of its brave sons.
Reflecting on his tenure as Chief Minister of Haryana, Khattar highlighted the unity fostered under the initiative of “Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat.” While inaugurating a 24-hour uninterrupted drinking water supply for 2,660 households across five divisions of Karimnagar, he expressed pride in the progress being made under the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Khattar congratulated Karimnagar MP, local public representatives, and the Mayor of Karimnagar for their efforts. He also appreciated the development of a park for community joy, a sports complex for youth, and digital smart classes for students.
Khattar emphasized the importance of fulfilling developmental promises, stating, “Having ambition is one thing, but fulfilling it is another. Political leaders earn recognition from the people by achieving planned development to satisfy their needs.”
The Minister highlighted the Central government’s commitment to providing clean drinking water to every household under the Jal Jeevan Mission. Currently, 74% of households in India have access to clean drinking water. Out of the 12 crore piped water connections established under the initiative, 38.30 lakh are in Telangana. Khattar expressed happiness at launching the 24-hour drinking water supply to 4,055 households in five divisions of Karimnagar Corporation as part of a pilot project.
He shared that, as of Friday, 2,200 households had already started receiving 24-hour water supply, with the remaining connections to be completed soon. “It is gratifying to benefit the people at a cost of Rs 18 crore. Karimnagar Corporation has ensured drinking water supply for 365 days to most houses in the country,” he noted.
Khattar praised Karimnagar Corporation for its effective implementation of Smart City development projects and for properly utilizing funds from various government schemes. He called it a model of success that other cities could follow.
