The leaders of the Steel Conservation Committee recently met with Telugu Desam Party National President, Chandrababu Naidu, at Visakhapatnam Airport to discuss the preservation of the Visakhapatnam steel plant. The committee leaders presented a memorandum to Naidu, expressing concern that despite worker protests over the past few years, the government has not taken action to protect the plant. Naidu acknowledged that it is the state government’s responsibility to safeguard the plant, but he also promised to take the issue to Delhi.
The committee leaders expressed disappointment with the YCP leaders’ promise to take labor union leaders to Delhi, stating that Chief Minister Jagan should instead bring leaders from all parties to Delhi to prevent privatization. Meanwhile, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) North Coastal Andhra Districts cluster meeting took place on Wednesday, with Naidu, State President Atchennaidu, and other key leaders in attendance. The meeting focused on discussing the failures and problems facing North Coastal Andhra.
