In Hyderabad, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and BRS working president KT Rama Rao clashed during the discussion of the Union Budget resolution. The debate turned chaotic as both sides exchanged harsh words and blamed each other for the current issues.
During the debate on the Union Budget’s impact on Telangana, CM Revanth Reddy questioned the absence of the Leader of Opposition. He remarked that the former CM, with his long experience, should be present for such an important discussion. Revanth Reddy suggested that the former CM might be hiding due to fear of Prime Minister Modi. KTR, on the other hand, argued that the BRS members present were enough to handle the discussion. He welcomed the resolution but criticized the government for not informing the Opposition about the discussion topics in advance.
Revanth Reddy responded by accusing KTR of creating unnecessary controversies. He alleged that a secret pact between the BJP and BRS had led to the current situation in the state. He emphasized that their achievements were due to hard work, not family connections, sparking further uproar in the house. Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar tried to maintain order amid the commotion.
KTR criticized the CM’s remarks, calling them inappropriate for his position and urging him to show restraint. He warned that if the CM continued, he could make similar claims about how the CM achieved his position. This prompted more uproar from the Treasury benches.
KTR also demanded clarification from the CM on the alleged transfer of city DISCOMs to private entities, specifically Adani. Revanth Reddy dismissed these as rumors, criticizing the previous BRS government for lacking a power policy.
As KTR continued to accuse the CM and recalled past remarks made by Revanth Reddy about Sonia Gandhi, his microphone was abruptly cut off, ending the heated exchange.
