    High tension was seen at Osmania University during a protest on Wednesday. The police arrested BRSV leaders from the NRS hostel for supporting unemployed youth demanding the postponement of DSC exams and a job calendar.

    A group of unemployed youth were protesting and BRSV leaders joined them. The police intervened when student union leaders started joining the protest in large numbers.

    The police arrested BRSV and other student leaders to restore normalcy on campus. Members of Telangana Students Parishad were also detained for planning to protest at Professor M Kodandaram’s house over delayed vice chancellor appointments.

    Additionally, a vernacular TV journalist was detained for covering the protest at OU. The journalist, Sricharan Sharma, was forcefully taken by police while reporting on the demands of teacher job aspirants.
