City Leaders Clash Over Cadre Support in PCC Review Meeting
A meeting held by the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) in Hyderabad on Thursday saw city leaders getting into heated arguments. The topic of discussion was the lack of support from party workers, or “cadre,” in the city. K Keshava Rao, the Government Advisor and the father of Mayor Gadwal Vijaylakshmi, even had to apologize for his daughter’s behavior during the meeting.
The review meeting was led by PCC President B Mahesh Kumar Goud and AICC State Incharge Deepadas Munshi. Things became tense during discussions between leaders from the Secunderabad Parliamentary segment. The argument was about the party’s cadre not being active in certain areas, and one leader compared the loud arguments to the “barking of dogs.”
The argument began when Deputy Mayor Mothe Srilatha Reddy and Secunderabad leader Adam Santosh disagreed over whether adequate cadre support existed. Srilatha claimed her area had no active party workers, but Santosh strongly disagreed.
Khairatabad corporator Vijaya Reddy also joined the argument, questioning Srilatha’s claims. The discussion became more heated, and at one point, Mayor Vijaylakshmi reportedly lost her temper and made a remark comparing the situation to “dogs barking.” This remark upset many of the other leaders present.
PCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud expressed his displeasure with the Mayor’s behavior. He warned that action would be taken if such behavior occurred again. K Keshava Rao then apologized on behalf of his daughter, the Mayor, to both the PCC president and the AICC incharge.
