Hyderabad: Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao has reaffirmed the State government’s commitment to supporting farmers. After fulfilling the promise of waiving farm loans up to Rs two lakh, he mentioned that the government is now considering waiving loans over Rs two lakh as well. He added that a detailed review of the situation will be conducted after the Dasara festival.

On Monday, the ‘Meet your Minister’ program resumed at Gandhi Bhavan after a week-long break. During the event, the Minister received complaints and requests from individuals and organizations. The concerns raised included issues related to land, employment, pensions, and the 2BHK housing scheme.

Minister Rao assured that once the crop loan waiver scheme is completed, the Rythu Bharosa assistance will be provided to farmers across the State. He also criticized the BJP for spreading misinformation, stating that despite the State government’s efforts, the opposition continues to mislead people about the farm loan waivers.

He further accused both the BRS and BJP of mistreating farmers. According to him, the protests seen across the State were not genuine farmers, but rather people who have lost power or are trying to gain political power.
