AMARAVATI: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has filed a police complaint against AR Dairy Food Products Limited. The company is accused of supplying adulterated ghee, which is used in the preparation of the sacred Tirumala laddus.
The complaint was lodged by TTD Procurement General Manager, Murali Krishna, at the Tirupati East police station.
According to the complaint, AR Dairy violated supply rules by providing ghee mixed with vegetable oil and animal fat. The ghee was ordered on 15th May this year and delivered on 12th, 20th, and 25th June, as well as 6th and 12th July, in four tankers. Tests conducted by TTD, with the help of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), confirmed the presence of adulterants.
TTD had sent show-cause notices to AR Dairy on 22nd, 23rd, and 27th July, but the company responded on 4th September, denying any wrongdoing. However, based on the test results, TTD has requested legal action against AR Dairy for violating the agreement and supplying contaminated ghee.
