The Telangana High Court has decided not to postpone the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) Group 1 preliminary examination that is scheduled for June 11. This decision was made by Justice P Madhavi Devi after hearing a writ petition filed by S Muralidhar Reddy, who alleged that TSPSC was contemplating conducting a fresh/second preliminary examination due to malpractice and fraud in the previous exam. The petitioner argued that the investigation is still pending, and conducting the exam without completing the investigation is not urgent. The petitioner’s counsel expressed his concern about TSPSC’s attitude in conducting the exam in a hurried manner.
The TSPSC authorities were accused of not cooperating with SIT, and the police investigation is not complete. The petitioner’s counsel pointed out that TSPSC employees were writing the examination, and it was unclear how they got NoC from the department conducting the exam. The Special GP Santosh Kumar informed the court that an IAS officer has been appointed as controller of examination. In the TSPSC malpractice, two regular employees have been identified in the whole paper leakage, and the investigation is ongoing.
Justice Devi said that she would not postpone the Group-1 preliminary exam. She directed the court registry to tag the petition with another writ which is pending before the other bench for CBI investigation in the TSPSC paper leakage issue.
