The Telangana Recognised Schools Management Association (TRSMA) has asked for exceptions in various areas for schools’ renewal of recognition. TRSMA is a group of schools that have been recognized for over 20 years as non-profit institutions. They want the government to convert property tax, electricity, and water bills from commercial to domestic rates. They also want exemptions from Fire NOC, Traffic NOC, GHMC, and other municipalities.

TRSMA is concerned about some violations of the norms set by the Right to Education (RTE) Act. Entrance tests are being conducted for admissions into various residential schools, contrary to the act’s guidelines. TRSMA demands that admissions into residential schools be conducted through a lottery system to ensure fairness and RTE Act compliance.

TRSMA is also worried about the Transport department’s regulations. The COVID-19 pandemic has affected educational institution buses (EIB), and TRSMA requests that the government extend the life of EIB for an additional two years, considering the halt in operations during the pandemic.

TRSMA members have submitted a written representation to the Director of School Education, highlighting these concerns and urging for exemptions and exceptions that would be beneficial to their schools.
