The party high command may be planning to change the name of BRS back to TRS, according to some sources. Boinapalli Vinod Kumar, who ran as the BRS MP candidate of Karimnagar, hinted at this in a recent media interaction. He mentioned that 80% of activists at a review meeting also expressed a desire to revert to the TRS name, but legal advice would be needed for such a change.

Vinod Kumar stated that the people of Telangana also prefer the name TRS. However, the final decision on changing BRS back to TRS will be made by the party leadership after the Lok Sabha elections.

Since renaming itself from Telangana Rashtra Samithi to Bharat Rashtra Samithi, the party has faced challenges. Despite the name change, the party has struggled to gain traction and suffered unexpected losses in previous elections. Party leader KCR’s health issues and Kavitha’s arrest further added to the party’s troubles. As a result, there is talk within the party of changing the name once again.
