Congress Leader Challenges TRS on Allegations
Nizamabad: District Congress Committee president Manala Mohan Reddy has openly challenged TRS leaders over accusations that the Congress government is targeting BRS leaders. He dismissed these claims as baseless and accused TRS of spreading false narratives.
Speaking at a press conference at the Nizamabad District Congress Party office, Mohan Reddy criticized TRS leaders, particularly Prashanth Reddy, for orchestrating attacks on Congress workers over the past decade. He emphasized that the Congress party, following Gandhian principles, does not engage in violence or file false cases against its opponents.
Mohan Reddy issued a challenge to TRS leaders to discuss openly the alleged false cases and attacks on Congress workers during the TRS regime. He revealed a list of such cases, naming TRS leaders like Jeevan Reddy, Prashanth Reddy, and Bajireddy Govardhan as key perpetrators. He pointed out that after the Congress government came to power, no such incidents against TRS workers have been reported.
He accused Jeevan Reddy of falsely imprisoning a sarpanch and claimed that Prashanth Reddy filed SC/ST cases against youths in Manala village during the Dasara festival. Mohan Reddy also highlighted an incident where a farmer seeking help from Prashanth Reddy was allegedly attacked and falsely accused by his followers.
Further allegations included Prashanth Reddy filing false drug-related cases against a father and son in Mupkal village and targeting Muslim brothers in Balkonda village with illegal cases. Mohan Reddy criticized Prashanth Reddy for speaking about harassment and illegal cases, calling it akin to “devils quoting scriptures.”
He contrasted the governance styles of the two parties, stating that under the Congress government, there was public-oriented governance, whereas the TRS regime was marked by fear and coercion. He accused TRS leaders of forcing Congress workers to join their party through false accusations.
Mohan Reddy also blamed Prashanth Reddy for misleading farmers, causing them to sell their paddy to private buyers out of fear that the Congress government would not provide bonuses. He reassured farmers that the Congress government is delivering on its promises and accused TRS leaders of being responsible for their losses.
He criticized TRS chief KCR, accusing him of acting like a “broker” by making false promises, and denounced Jeevan Reddy for similar behavior. Mohan Reddy warned that Congress leaders would not tolerate any baseless criticism against the party or its members.
Referring to the TRS leaders’ Deeksha Divas, Mohan Reddy dismissed it as a fraud. He argued that Telangana’s statehood was achieved due to the sacrifices of many youths and the efforts of Sonia Gandhi, not KCR’s so-called fast. He questioned the authenticity of KCR’s fast, claiming the public knows what actually happened during his time in the hospital.
The event was attended by several Congress leaders, including District Library Chairman Anta Reddy Rajareddy, State Publicity Committee member Javed Akram, District NSUI president Venu Raj, district OBC president Raj Narender Goud, former BC Cell president Shekhar Goud, and others.
