Hyderabad: Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma and Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, along with other notable dignitaries, gathered to honor the memory of Marri Channa Reddy, the former chief minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh. The occasion marked his 28th death anniversary.
The leaders paid floral tributes at the Marri Channa Reddy Memorial Rock Gardens, located near Indira Park in Hyderabad. The event saw participation from several prominent figures, including former Chief Minister Nadendla Bhaskar Rao and Telangana Congress president B. Mahesh Kumar Goud.
Marri Shashidhar Reddy, the son of Marri Channa Reddy and a former vice chairman of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), was also present to pay respects. Many other leaders joined the gathering to remember the contributions of the late leader.
Marri Channa Reddy, born in 1919 in Telangana, was a prominent political figure. Apart from serving as the chief minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh, he also held significant positions as the Governor of Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu during his lifetime.
