Salman Khan’s ‘Sikandar’ Kurta-Pajama Becomes Eid Fashion Trend in Hyderabad

With Eid approaching, a new fashion trend inspired by Salman Khan’s upcoming movie Sikandar is taking over Hyderabad. Many young Muslim men are eager to wear the black pathani kurta-pajama seen in the hit song Zohra Jabeen from the film. This outfit has become a top choice for festive attire.

The trend, influenced by both cinema and cultural traditions, has created excitement in the city’s pre-Eid shopping scene. Since the release of Zohra Jabeen, young men, especially teenagers, have been keen to replicate Salman Khan’s stylish look. The black kurta features beautiful embroidery along the neckline, shoulders, and upper back, making it a fashionable choice for the occasion.

Eid is a major celebration, and many youngsters in Hyderabad want to wear the black kurta-pajama just like Salman did in the song. In the Indian subcontinent, pathani kurta-pajama has long been a traditional outfit. Hyderabad, known for its rich cultural heritage, has always embraced this style as part of its Dakhini Tehzeeb (traditional lifestyle).

Salman’s outfit has become widely available in shops, showrooms, and shopping expos across the city. Traders are happy with the demand and are offering exact replicas of the actor’s attire. These pathani suits range in price from ₹1,800 to ₹5,000, depending on the fabric and embroidery work.

In Old City’s Shahalibanda area, shops are displaying outfits that closely resemble Salman Khan’s black kurta-pajama. Other areas, including Nampally, Abids, Mallepally, Tolichowki, Khairatabad, and Borabanda, have also seen a rise in demand for this trendy Eid outfit.

Mohammed Sahil Taiyebi, owner of Bhai ki Chai café (dedicated to Salman Khan), personally designs the actor’s Eid attire each year. “Every year, when bhai wears a special outfit, I recreate it for myself. This year, I will be wearing a black pathani made from imported fabric with intricate beadwork,” he shared.

Abdul Wasay Ansari, owner of Enigma Exclusive Store in Abids, said that after the song’s release, he immediately started making Salman-inspired kurtas. He has already sold several hundred pieces. “Whenever bhaijaan wears a pathani or kurta-pajama, it becomes a trend. People eagerly wait to see what he wears during Ramzan. Last year, his black and white chikankari outfit also became hugely popular,” Wasay remarked.

After the song’s release, customers began requesting outfits similar to Salman’s. Markets are now filled with pathani suits featuring machine embroidery, lace detailing, and beadwork. Outfits with standard fabric and lace embroidery cost between ₹1,500 and ₹2,500.

For those looking for a high-end version, Wasay offers a kurta made from imported lachka fabric with intricate craftsmanship, priced between ₹8,000 and ₹10,000. “I create these custom designs based on customer requests,” he added.

With Eid celebrations nearing, the excitement around Salman Khan’s Sikandar outfit continues to grow, making it the most sought-after festive attire in Hyderabad this season.
