In a momentous move aimed at revolutionizing healthcare accessibility, Shadnagar MLA Veerlapalli Shankar shed light on the monumental impact of the Rajiv Arogyashri Scheme. The MLA, joined by officials from the District Medical and Health Department and public representatives, spearheaded the program’s launch, heralding a substantial increase in the ‘Arogyasree’ limit from Rs. 5 lakhs to an impressive Rs. 10 lakhs.
Addressing a gathered audience, MLA Veerlapalli Shankar emphasized the pivotal role of the Rajiv Arogyashri scheme, branding it as a “boon to the poor.” He conveyed his appreciation to the Congress government for elevating the financial limit, ensuring that citizens now have access to crucial medical treatments and surgeries for 1383 diseases and 289 medical disorders. During his address, Shankar harked back to the previous government’s tenure, highlighting the constraints faced by individuals, from the collector to the Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM), in terms of employment opportunities and services provided.

Former MLA Pratap Reddy delved into the far-reaching impact of the Rajiv Arogya Shri scheme, revealing that 85 lakh people across the state now benefit from medical insurance coverage of ten lakh rupees.
