Mandula Samel, a former farmer turned politician from Tungathurthi, has shown dedication and resilience throughout his journey. Hailing from Mothkur mandal in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district, Samel’s background as a Scheduled Caste individual who studied up to Intermediate level has given him a deep understanding of the challenges faced by ordinary people.
Samel’s political career took off when he actively participated in the Telangana movement as a leader of the TRS party. His efforts were instrumental in strengthening the movement and eventually led to the formation of Telangana state. Recognizing his contributions, he was appointed as the chairman of the Telangana State Warehousing Corporation by the TRS government, where he advocated for farmers’ interests and improved warehousing facilities.
Despite facing a setback when he was not chosen to contest as an MLA for the Tungathurthi constituency under TRS, Samel switched to the Congress party in 2023. This move proved beneficial as he was given the opportunity to contest in the 2023 elections and emerged victorious with a significant majority over his opponent from BRS.
Since his election, Samel has been working diligently to fulfill his campaign promises. With support from ministers Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Uttam Kumar Reddy, he has been focusing on developing infrastructure, improving educational facilities, and enhancing agricultural support systems in his constituency. Samel’s political journey exemplifies his unwavering commitment to bringing positive change to Tungathurthi.
