    Four people were killed and three others were seriously injured in a road accident at Penchikalpet cross in Elkaturthi mandal of Hanmakonda district. The injured are currently receiving treatment at Warangal MGM Hospital.

    The accident occurred when two families, Kantaiah and Shankar, were traveling by car from Ethurunagar of Mulugu district to visit Vemulawada Rajarajeshwara Swamy. Their car was hit by a speeding lorry coming from Karimnagar at Penchikalpet. Due to the impact, the car veered off the road and crashed into nearby bushes, resulting in severe damage to the vehicle. Unfortunately, the occupants were unable to escape from the car due to their serious injuries.

    Upon receiving the information, the police arrived at the scene and found that four individuals had already succumbed to their injuries. The three seriously injured individuals were immediately taken to Warangal MGM Hospital for treatment. Preliminary investigations suggest that the driver of the lorry was drowsy, leading to the accident. The driver of the lorry that hit the car and crossed the divider is currently on the run, according to the police.

    The deceased individuals have been identified as Kantaiah, Shankar, Bharat, and Chandana. The injured individuals have been identified as Renuka, Bhargav, and Sridevi. The police have registered a case and are currently conducting an investigation into the accident.
