In Jogulamba Gadwal District, a tragic road accident occurred on National Highway 44 near Yerravalli mandal junction around 11 pm, resulting in the instant death of four people. The accident involved a speeding Scorpio vehicle with seven occupants traveling from Allagadda town in Andhra Pradesh to Hyderabad, colliding with a lorry and getting stuck underneath it.
According to Yerravalli police, the Scorpio was driving at high speed and tried to overtake the lorry but miscalculated, causing the fatal collision. Eyewitnesses mentioned that the overspeeding vehicle couldn’t maneuver safely, leading to the severe crash.
Among the victims were two women, a child, and a man, while the other three occupants sustained critical injuries and were taken to the government hospital for urgent medical care. The police have initiated an investigation into the accident, focusing on the speed of the Scorpio and the events leading to the collision. This incident highlights the dangers of overspeeding and emphasizes the importance of careful driving, especially on busy highways.
