Traffic Advisory Issued in Hyderabad for August 25 Marathon Run

The Hyderabad Runners Marathon Run will take place on August 25, 2024. It will start at People’s Plaza on Necklace Road and end at G.M.C. Balayogi Stadium in Gachibowli. The marathon route will pass through several key areas, including Road No. 45 and the Durgam Cheruvu Cable Bridge. Due to the event, traffic restrictions and diversions will be in place from 4:30 AM to 9:00 AM in Hyderabad.

Marathon Route:

The marathon will begin at People’s Plaza on Necklace Road. The runners will then proceed through NTR Marg, Tank Bund, Children’s Park, Sailing Club, Buddha Bhavan, and Sanjeevaiah Park. After looping back to People’s Plaza, the route continues through Khairtabad, Raj Bhavan Road, Somajiguda, Punjagutta flyover, MJ College, SNT Junction, Sagar Society, KBR Park, Jubilee Hills Checkpost, and finally Road No. 45 and the Cable Bridge.

Traffic Diversions:

LandSeeker

1. Traffic from Panjagutta and Raj Bhavan heading toward Khairtabad flyover will be diverted at V.V statue towards Shadan and Nirankari Bhavan.

2. Vehicles traveling from Khairatabad flyover and Shadan to Banjara Hills or Jubilee Hills will be rerouted at K.C.P via Taj Krishna, Roads No. 10 & 12, Cancer Hospital, and Orissa Land.

3. Traffic from Iqbal Minar intending to go towards Upper Tank Bund will be diverted to Telugu Talli flyover at the Old Secretariat gate.

4. Vehicles from Liberty aiming to reach Upper Tank Bund will be rerouted at Ambedkar Statue towards Telugu Thalli.

5. Traffic from Karbala towards Upper Tank Bund will be diverted at Sailing Club towards Kavadiguda.

6. Vehicles from Musheerabad and Jabbar Complex heading towards Upper Tank Bund via Sailing Club will be diverted at Kavadiguda X Road towards DBR Mills and Lower Tank Bund.

7. Traffic from Telugutalli flyover heading to Lower Tank Bund will not be allowed on Upper Tank Bund and will be diverted at DBR Mills towards Kavadiguda X Road.

8. Traffic from Ministers Road and Ranigunj will not be allowed towards Necklace Road and will be diverted at Nallagutta Junction towards Ranigunj and Minister Road.

9. When the marathon reaches Necklace Rotary, traffic from Begumpet towards Raj Bhavan, Banjara Hills, and Jubilee Hills will be diverted at Greenlands Junction towards D.K. Road, Ameerpet.

10. As the marathon enters Panjagutta flyover, traffic from Panjagutta towards Road No. 2, Banjara Hills, will be rerouted at NFCL Junction towards Road No. 1, Banjara Hills.

11. At SNT Junction, traffic from Srinagar Colony towards Road No. 2, Banjara Hills, will not be allowed and will be advised to take alternate routes through Srinagar Colony, Kamalapuri Colony, Green Bawarchi, and Venkatagiri to Jubilee Hills.

12. Traffic from Kamalapuri Colony towards Road No. 2, Banjara Hills, will be rerouted through Kamalapuri Colony, Green Bawarchi, and Venkatagiri to Jubilee Hills.

13. When the marathon reaches Sagar Society Junction, traffic from Orissa Island/Road No. 10, Banjara Hills, will not be allowed towards NTR Bhavan. Vehicles will be diverted at Cancer Hospital towards Orissa Island and Road No. 10.

14. When the marathon reaches NTR Bhavan, traffic from Film Nagar and BVB Junction towards Jubilee Hills Checkpost will be rerouted at Journalist Colony towards Road No. 70 and Hot Cup towards Madhapur.

15. Traffic will not be allowed on Road No. 45, Jubilee Hills, as the marathon progresses beyond Jubilee Hills Check Post towards Road No. 45 Cable Bridge. Vehicles from Venkatagiri ‘T’ Junction KBR Park will be diverted towards Road No. 36, Jubilee Hills, and Road No. 2, Banjara Hills.

Important Notice:

Citizens are advised to avoid the marathon route and the affected junctions between 4:30 AM and 10:00 AM on August 25, 2024. Please use alternate routes to reach your destinations and avoid traffic congestion. In case of emergencies, travelers can call the traffic helpline at 9010203626 for assistance. The Hyderabad Traffic Police urges everyone to cooperate.
