Hyderabad city police have issued traffic diversions for commuters due to the installation and immersion of the Khairtabad Bada Ganesh from September 18 to 28. The traffic diversions will be implemented as needed from 11 am until late at night, depending on the number of visitors coming to see the Ganesh idol.
If you are planning to go towards Mint Compound from the Rajeev Gandhi statue, you will not be allowed and instead diverted at the Rajeev Gandhi statue towards Nirankari Junction. Similarly, if you are heading from Rajdoot lane towards Bada Ganesh, your traffic will be diverted at Rajdoot lane towards Iqbal Minar.
For those going from Mint Compound towards IMAX Theatre, you will also be diverted at Mint Compound towards Telugu Thalli junction. And if you are traveling from Necklace Rotary towards Mint Compound, your traffic will be directed at Necklace Rotary towards Telugu Thalli junction or Khairatabad flyover.
If you are coming from the Khairatabad Post Office lane towards the Khairatabad Railway gate, you will not be allowed and instead diverted at the Post Office towards Old PS Saifabad junction. The traffic police expect congestion in various junctions such as Khairatabad, Shadan College, Nirankari, Old PS Saifabad, Mint Compound, and Necklace Rotary due to the large number of devotees visiting Bada Ganesh. Commuters are advised to avoid these routes.
Visitors coming for Bada Ganesh darshan through Necklace Rotary and NTR Garden should park their vehicles at parking places near IMAX, NTR Ghat, and NTR Garden. Alternatively, they can park opposite IMAX in school premises. Devotees coming in their own vehicles for Bada Ganesh darshan should come through Necklace Rotary and avoid Khairtabad Junction Road and Rajdoot Lane Road.
The restrictions will be imposed based on the number of devotees coming to see the Khairtabad Bada Ganesh idol. The police request citizens to take alternate routes and avoid the mentioned routes during specified timings. They also urge cooperation with the traffic police.
