Hyderabad: The president of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC), B Mahesh Kumar, has responded to a meeting held by K T Rama Rao (KTR), the working president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), with Group-I exam aspirants. Mahesh Kumar invited representatives of the aspirants to discuss their concerns and promised to speak with Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and other high-ranking officials to find a solution.
The aspirants have been protesting at various locations, asking for the postponement of the ‘Mains’ exam. In response, Mahesh Kumar called them to Gandhi Bhavan to reassure them and discuss what could be done. He promised that he would make sure their worries were addressed by the officials in charge of the issue.
After the meeting, Mahesh Kumar spoke to the media and challenged KTR’s claims about job creation. He questioned the number of jobs the BRS government had created over the last decade. “How many jobs did you create for unemployed youth? You didn’t even create 30,000 or 40,000 jobs. We, on the other hand, provided 50,000 jobs. You and your father have pushed the State into debt, with Rs 7.5 lakh crore in loans. Despite this, the government is ensuring the State continues to thrive,” he said.
He also criticized both the BRS and BJP for not being serious about solving the unemployment issue. Mahesh Kumar emphasized that the Congress was committed to providing jobs for the youth. He also mentioned that Congress is conducting a caste survey as part of its efforts to ensure equal opportunities for all. “While your government conducted the Samagra Kutumba survey without revealing the results, we are serious about surveys. That’s why we will carry out the BC survey,” he added.
