New female candidates from Secunderabad Cantonment are running for the MLA seat in the upcoming Telangana Assembly elections. Lasya Nanditha, a BRS candidate, and Dr Vennela from the Congress party are both contesting their first Assembly election this year. Lasya Nanditha is the daughter of the late BRS MLA, G Sayanna, who served as a five-time MLA of Secunderabad Cantonment. Vennela is the daughter of the late Balladeer Gaddar. Both candidates have strong political backgrounds.

Dr Vennela has been interacting with locals and discussing the Congress party’s six guarantees, focusing on the welfare of marginalized communities. She was inspired by her father’s work and wants to continue his legacy. Lasya Nanditha has started a door-to-door campaign in the Cantonment area and is confident in her victory. She aims to unite with GHMC and pursue the merger of Secunderabad Cantonment with the Central government. She has previous political experience as a corporator in Kavadiguda.
