The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) is launching 16 brand new AC sleeper buses for the first time to cater to the needs of long distance passengers. These buses are designed to provide high-tech features for the comfort of passengers and will be available to commuters from today. The TSRTC will run these buses on routes to Bengaluru, Hubbali, Visakhapatnam, Tirupati, and Chennai. The management has decided to launch these buses after receiving an overwhelming response from passengers for their new super luxury 630 buses, eight non-AC sleeper cum seater buses, and four non-AC sleeper buses. The AC sleeper buses will be inaugurated today at 9.30 am by the Transport Minister, Puvvada Ajay Kumar, TSRTC Chairman and MLA Bajireddy Govardhan, MD V C Sajjanar, and other senior officials on the Vijayawada route in LB Nagar.
The 12-metre-long AC sleeper buses have a capacity of 30 berths with lower 15 and upper 15. They are equipped with state-of-the-art technology for the safety of passengers, including a tracking system and panic button facility. In case of any problems faced by passengers, they can press the panic button, and the TSRTC control room will be informed immediately. The buses also have free Wi-Fi, LED display boards in the front and back to display destination details, reading lamps at each berth, and a mobile charging facility. Additionally, security cameras, reverse parking assistance cameras, Fire Detection and Alarm System (FDAS), and a public address system are installed in each bus for the safety of passengers.
The AC sleeper buses are designed to compete with private buses and provide better quality services to passengers. They are christened as ‘Lahari-AmmaodiAnubhuthi’ like the non-AC sleeper buses. The TSRTC aims to reach more people going to distant places by providing state-of-the-art facilities in their new AC sleeper buses.
