    The Sircilla Government Medical College was inaugurated by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao through a virtual event on Friday. District Collector Anurag Jayanthi, along with Additional Collectors N Khemya Naik and Gautham Reddy, inspected the arrangements for the inauguration of the medical college. They also examined the accommodation arrangements for the medical students at Sardapur Agricultural Polytechnic College. The Chief Minister ordered officials to ensure that all necessary arrangements were made for the inaugural programme.

    IT Minister KTR will visit Sircilla on Friday to participate in the opening ceremony of the medical college located at Sircilla bypass road. At noon, he will join a rally from Sircilla CESS office to Ambedkar square to express gratitude to CM KCR for approving the establishment of the medical college. The Government Medical College is spread across 36 acres and consists of a G+3 floor building with 4 blocks on each floor. It was built at a cost of Rs 39 crore. The college has a total of 100 doctors, including 50 faculty members, 38 senior resident doctors, and other medical professionals. Additionally, there are 250 non-teaching and other staff members.

    The college has an initial intake of 100 students, out of which 90 have already joined in the first year. The State quota will be filled on September 16, while the All India quota will be filled by September 18. Accommodation for the students has been arranged at Agricultural Polytechnic College in Sardapur.
