Priyanka Gandhi, a leader of the Congress party, will hold her first public meeting on Monday at Saroornagar Stadium in Hyderabad. The meeting, called Yuva Sangharshna Sabha, will last for two hours and include a Youth Declaration that outlines promises to the youth and students, such as employment generation and unemployment dole. Priyanka will arrive at Begumpet airport by special aircraft and will switch to a chopper to reach the stadium. If a chopper is not available, she will travel by road to the venue. The meeting will start at 2:30 pm and end at 5:30 pm.

The TPCC president Revanth Reddy and CLP leader Bhatti Vikramarka will be the only other speakers at the event. Priyanka plans to announce that if Congress wins the election, they will change the name of Saroornagar Stadium to Srikantha Chari Stadium, who sacrificed his life for the separate Telangana. The TPCC hopes that Priyanka’s visit will revitalize the party cadre and instill confidence in unemployed youth and students in the state.

The Congress party has struggled in Telangana despite the UPA government realizing the statehood demand in 2014. The party has lost many elections, including the Legislative Assembly elections in 2014 and 2018, Assembly by polls, and the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) election. The BJP has won two Assembly bypolls and the GHMC election and is now aiming to emerge as an alternative to the ruling BRS.

The TPCC is hopeful that Priyanka’s visit will inspire youth, women, and farmers and resurrect their prospects in the state. Senior vice president of Telangana Congress and former MP Mallu Ravi said that the Youth Declaration would contain promises to the youth and students about employment generation on a large scale. Priyanka will also address the issue of TSPSC paper leak.
