On October 9, 2024, Head Constable Feroz from the Cyber Crime Unit of Hyderabad City, along with Mrs. Saleha Begum, Deputy Manager of ICICI Bank, Nallakunta Branch, successfully stopped two separate fraudulent transactions. Together, they prevented a total of ₹19,50,000 (Rupees nineteen lakh fifty thousand) from being lost to scammers.

The first incident involved a man named Sri Sadula Srinivas, who lives in Warisguda, Hyderabad. He had gone to ICICI Bank to transfer ₹9,00,000 (Rupees nine lakh) to a scammer, thinking it was a payment for stock trading. The Deputy Manager, Mrs. Saleha Begum, noticed something suspicious and alerted Head Constable Feroz. After counseling the victim, they managed to stop the transfer. Sadly, the victim had already paid ₹3,00,000 to the fraudsters. HC Feroz advised him to report the case to the Cyber Crime Unit.

In the second case, Sri Naveen Kumar Sandhyala, a resident of Adikmet, Hyderabad, visited the same bank to transfer ₹11,50,000 (Rupees eleven lakh fifty thousand) as part of a fake digital arrest and money laundering scam. Once again, the Deputy Manager became suspicious and immediately informed HC Feroz. He intervened and stopped the victim from sending the money. Naveen was also advised to report the incident to the Cyber Crime Unit.

These two cases highlight the quick thinking and vigilance of the bank staff and the Cyber Crime Unit, which saved both victims from losing large sums of money.
