Tiger Sighting Sparks Panic in Mancherial Villages
A tiger was spotted attacking a wild boar in a cotton field near the Kannala forest area in Bellampalli mandal on Saturday. The tiger has reportedly been roaming the forests near Kannala and the Bugga Rajeshwara Swamy temple since Thursday evening.
Residents in the region are panicked after forest officials observed the tiger drinking water from a pond near Kannala village. On Friday morning, the tiger was seen in the Kannala and Bugga forest areas. By the afternoon, it moved from the Kunta Ramula Basti Nilgiri forest to the Peddanapalli mango orchards.
Forest officials from the Bellampalli Range confirmed the tiger’s movements. The situation caused further alarm on Saturday when the tiger attacked a wild boar in the cotton field of a local farmer, Tokala Tirupati, in the same area. The tiger is believed to be identified as “B-2” and is suspected to have come from the Tiryani forests.
Though it was initially thought that the tiger had left the area, its reappearance in the cotton fields has raised concerns. Some officials suspect that the tiger seen in the Kannala forest area may not be the same as the one observed in the Peddanapalli mango orchards.
For the past three days, the tiger has been roaming various locations, including Bugga Gudem, Kariselaghattam, Ankusham, Kannala, Lakshmipuram, and Kunta Ramula Basti, spreading fear among the locals. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation to ensure the safety of residents.
