    Hyderabad to Host 7th International Kite and Sweet Festival

    The 7th edition of the International Kite and Sweet Festival will be held at Parade Grounds in Secunderabad from January 13 to 15, coinciding with the Sankranti festival.

    Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao launched the event’s poster on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister explained that the festival is designed to showcase Telangana’s rich heritage and culture.

    The Minister highlighted how the festival will enhance Hyderabad’s reputation on an international level. He described the city as a cultural melting pot, known for welcoming people from across India and around the world, making it their home.

    The event is set to host 47 international kite flyers from 16 countries and 60 members of a kite club from 14 Indian states. Visitors can also enjoy a wide variety of sweets, including Telangana’s traditional sweets, as well as delicacies from other states and countries at the specially set-up stalls.

    With free entry, attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy cultural programs and purchase handlooms and handicraft products that will be on display.

    Minister Jupally also visited the Parade Grounds to review the event arrangements. He encouraged tourists to explore key attractions in the city, such as historical monuments, heritage sites, and ancient temples. He assured that the Tourism Department is well-prepared to support visitors and noted how increased tourism can benefit locals by creating employment opportunities.

    The three-day festival is expected to attract around 15 lakh visitors. Authorities are working on comprehensive arrangements to ensure the event’s success. Tourism Secretary Smitha Sabarwal described the festival as unique, not only in India but on a global scale.
