The arrested individuals were identified as Sampangi Laxman (44), Gummadi Naga Shankar (23), and Gummadi Murali (54), all hailing from Krishna district in Andhra Pradesh. The police acted based on a complaint filed by Kamani Madhusudhan Rao, a resident of Kukatpally, who reported a theft at his house.

According to the police, Laxman and Murali worked as drivers at the Prakash Engineering Office in Vivekananda Nagar Colony, Kukatpally. They were familiar with Madhusudhan’s business partners and knew the family was staying at their daughter’s house in Miyapur. Seizing this opportunity, they conspired with Naga Shankar to commit the burglary.

On the night of November 28-29, around 1 a.m., Laxman and Shankar arrived at Madhusudhan’s locked house wearing masks and gloves. They carried tools, including an iron rod, to break the lock. After breaking the central lock of the main door, they entered the house, proceeded to the bedroom, and forced open an almirah. They stole 80 tolas of gold jewelry, including necklaces, bangles, and rings, along with ₹2 lakh in cash. The burglars ransacked the house and fled with the stolen items.

The police used CCTV footage from over 200 cameras along the suspects’ escape route to track them down. Their efforts led to the arrest of the three accused and the recovery of the stolen property.
