The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) has announced that it will operate over 6,000 special bus services during the upcoming Dasara festival. These buses will help meet the high demand for travel as people head to their hometowns to celebrate the festival.

The special services will run from October 1 to October 15. Buses will be available from major locations in Hyderabad’s suburbs, including MGBS, JBS, LB Nagar, Uppal, Aramghar, Santosh Nagar, and KPHB. To make travel more comfortable, TGSRTC is setting up basic facilities like shelters, seating, drinking water, and a public address system at these locations.

On Monday, TGSRTC’s managing director, VC Sajjanar, held a virtual meeting with field officials to discuss the arrangements for these special services. He stressed the importance of smooth and efficient operations to ensure passengers have a safe and comfortable journey. He also mentioned that additional steps are being taken to handle the expected increase in traffic during the festive season, especially with the introduction of the Mahalakshmi scheme.

Sajjanar explained that TGSRTC will operate these 6,000 special buses not just within Telangana but also to neighboring states like Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Maharashtra. There will be electric super luxury buses on key routes such as Karimnagar and Nizamabad to promote eco-friendly travel. Passengers can also book their tickets in advance through the TGSRTC official website.

Heavy traffic is expected between October 9 and 11, leading up to Dasara on October 12. Sajjanar has instructed officials to add more buses if needed and to work with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to set up dedicated toll lanes for TGSRTC buses during these busy days.

Additionally, special bus services will be routed through Hyderabad’s IT corridor, including Gachibowli ORR, to provide convenient travel options for tech workers traveling to Vijayawada and Bengaluru. Sajjanar encouraged passengers to take advantage of these special services and assured that TGSRTC is working closely with the police, transport, and municipal authorities to ensure a smooth travel experience.

For more details about the Dasara special services, passengers can visit the TGSRTC website or call the helpline numbers at 040-69440000 or 040-23450033.
