The Telangana Road Transport Corporation has introduced new bus services in the Information Technology corridor of Hyderabad to help ease traffic congestion for software employees and others in the area. The decision was made after conducting surveys to understand travel patterns and demands in the region.

One of the new routes introduced is Miyapur-Narsingi via Allwyn ‘x’ road, Kothaguda, and Gachibowli. Buses will run on this route with a frequency of approximately every 15 minutes to cater to software employees living in Miyapur, BHEL, Hafeezpet, and surrounding areas who need to get to Gachibowli and Narsingi. Additional buses have been added in Bachupally, Pragathi Nagar, and Miyapur due to high commuter potential.

The RTC has also introduced air-conditioned bus services on routes connecting Bachupally and Waverock via JNTU and Mindspace, as well as Mehdipatnam to Gopanpally via Nanakramguda and Wipro. These AC buses were added in response to demand from passengers. However, the challenge remains that many people prefer cabs and autorickshaws over RTC buses in these areas.

To encourage more people to use RTC services, the corporation has introduced exclusive Metro Express ladies special buses from JNTU to Waverock. These buses travel through various important locations in the IT corridor. Additionally, ‘Cyber Liners’ mini-buses have been launched to provide last-mile connectivity from Raidurg Metro station to the newly-opened US consulate, linking DLF station, Waverock, and GAR.
