Telangana Medical Council Issues Notice to Rush Care Hospital Over Fake Doctors

The Telangana Medical Council (TGMC) has taken action against Rush Care Hospital in Hyderabad for allegedly supporting fake doctors. On Friday, the Council sent a notice to the hospital, asking for an explanation. If the hospital fails to respond within 10 days, the Council plans to take legal action under the National Medical Commission (NMC) Act.

TGMC Chairman Dr. Mahesh Kumar and Registrar Dr. Lalayya addressed the notice to the hospital’s management and medical superintendent. The notice accused the hospital of promoting unqualified doctors, known as RMPs (Registered Medical Practitioners) and PMPs (Private Medical Practitioners), during the 18th annual meeting of the Sushruta Rural Doctors Association in Nalgonda district on December 25, 2024.

The Council highlighted that it is unethical and illegal for hospitals and qualified doctors to support or hire fake doctors. TGMC Vice Chairman Dr. G. Srinivas stated that some hospitals use fake doctors as marketing agents, offering them commissions. He emphasized that such practices violate the law and harm the reputation of the medical profession.

Dr. Naresh Kumar, chairman of TGMC’s public relations committee, warned people about the dangers of consulting fake doctors. He explained that these individuals lack proper medical qualifications and government authorization to practice medicine. Their treatments often fail to cure illnesses, worsen conditions, or lead to new health problems. In many cases, they refer patients to private hospitals for a higher commission, increasing financial burdens on families.

Dr. Naresh Kumar urged people to avoid neglecting minor health issues and seek treatment from qualified doctors at the earliest stages of illness. He stressed that proper medical care from licensed professionals is essential for effective treatment and long-term health.
