The first edition, SHIELD 2025, was unveiled during a curtain-raiser event at the ICCC in Banjara Hills. It is jointly organized by TGCSB and the Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC). This landmark event is envisioned as a platform to transform Telangana’s cyber security ecosystem while showcasing advanced technological tools to address growing cybercrime threats.

The conclave will be held at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC). At the curtain-raiser, Shikha Goel, DG CID and Acting Director of TGCSB, emphasized the critical importance of cyber security. “SHIELD 2025 is more than just a conclave. It is a call to action for all stakeholders to work together in building a secure and resilient digital future,” she said. Highlighting the global priority of cyber security, Goel added that the event will bring together top experts to address the challenges of creating a safer cyberspace.

Goel also shared alarming statistics about cybercrime. In 2024, India lost Rs 22,812 crore to cybercriminal activities. In Telangana alone, 1,20,869 citizens were victims of cybercrime last year. However, TGCSB successfully recovered Rs 183 crore for 17,912 victims, showcasing its commitment to supporting citizens.

The conclave will feature keynote speeches, panel discussions, and workshops on various topics such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, digital forensics, ransomware, cryptocurrency, deep fakes, misinformation on social media, and cyber resilience for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). It will also address nation-state cyber threats, industry resilience, and the safety of women and children in an increasingly digital world.

In addition, closed-door sessions will be organized for law enforcement agencies to strategize responses to emerging cybercrimes such as VOIP frauds, ransomware, phishing, cryptocurrency scams, and financial fraud. Domain experts will participate in these sessions to develop actionable solutions for these challenges.

Interactive workshops will also be held to help stakeholders build resilience and adapt to the latest cyber threats in 2025. These workshops aim to prepare participants for the evolving tactics used by cybercriminals.

Cyberabad Police Commissioner Avinash Mohanty stressed the importance of collaboration between technology, governance, and society in combating sophisticated cybercrime. He noted that SHIELD 2025 provides a crucial platform to strengthen partnerships and create effective strategies for preventing cyber threats.

SHIELD 2025 is expected to be a significant step toward creating a safer and more secure digital environment in Telangana and beyond.
