A team of officials from the State is planning to visit New Delhi next week. They are going to meet with the Union Home Ministry to ask for flood relief funds. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy will also attend the meeting, which will be led by Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
The State representatives will ask the ministry to release flood relief money as soon as possible. The meeting is expected to take place around October 7. The State government is currently preparing a detailed report on the damages caused by recent heavy rains. This report will cover damage to crops, roads, and breaches in canals and other water bodies.
Earlier, when Union Minister for Agriculture Shiv Raj Singh and a Central team visited the flood-affected areas, the Chief Minister explained the difficulties in using Central funds. He mentioned that strict disaster rules and regulations made it hard to use the money properly.
The State government has been asking the Centre to simplify these rules. They want the process to be easier so they can get more disaster relief funds and use them without too many restrictions.
The State is also facing financial difficulties. Because of this, the delegation will ask the Union Home Ministry for large amounts of money to help fix the damaged crops and roads.
One of the main topics of discussion will be the matching grants from the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) and the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF). The State officials want the Central government to provide immediate financial help.
So far, the Centre has not released any funds, even though the State government has requested help during previous visits by Central teams. The State delegation will push for the immediate release of relief funds to help the farmers who have been affected by the crop damage.
