The Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) will be held state wide from May 20 to June 3, according to School Education Commissioner Devasena. The notification and information bulletin for the TET will be available on the school education website on March 20, and applications for the computer-based exam can be submitted from March 27 to April 10.
The Department of School Education recently announced 11,062 teacher positions in the state, with the deadline for applications set for April 3. To be eligible to apply for these positions, candidates must have a TET qualification. Those with a B.Ed or D.Ed without TET qualification will not be able to participate in the recruitment process. To give qualified candidates a chance, the government has decided to conduct the TET before the recruitment process.
Due to this change, the deadline for DSC applications has been extended to June 6. The DSC exam will take place online from July 17 to 31. Current government school teachers will also have the opportunity to take the TET, with more details on this to come. Around 80,000 teachers will need to take the TET as it is now a requirement for teacher promotions.
