According to the Tappachabutra police, a piece of meat weighing around 250 grams was discovered inside the temple premises near Madina Hotel in Natraj Nagar. The incident was reported to Station House Officer (SHO) A Ramulu at approximately 8:20 AM on Wednesday.

Upon receiving the report, the police acted quickly. The SHO, along with senior officials, including the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), and DCP, visited the temple to assess the situation. Four police teams were formed to check CCTV footage from the surrounding areas.

During the investigation, footage from a North-facing camera of the temple showed a cat carrying a piece of meat in its mouth and entering the temple premises. This confirmed that the cat was responsible for leaving the meat behind the Shiva Lingam. The police urged citizens not to spread rumors or misinformation about the incident. The Deputy Commissioner of Police (South West Zone) praised the officers for resolving the matter quickly.

Meanwhile, the Tappachabutra police issued a notice to the temple committee for failing to install CCTV cameras inside the temple. The police had previously advised the committee to install cameras multiple times, but the management cited a lack of funds as the reason for the delay.

An official stated that despite repeated requests, the temple committee had not installed CCTV cameras. The absence of cameras was creating law and order problems and putting the safety of the temple at risk.
