In Hyderabad, while BRS leaders are occupied with ‘Atmeeya Sammelans’, conflicts between MLAs and local leaders persist. On Tuesday, a heated argument broke out between legislator Kaleru Venkatesh (Amberpet) and Golnaka corporator D Lavanya, with her husband Srinivas Goude also involved. The argument occurred while they were paying tributes to the statue of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule. Venkatesh was unhappy that the corporator had gone to the press claiming she was not being invited to meetings, and threatened to reveal what she had done. Srinivas accused Venkatesh of purposely pushing Lavanya at the event. Lavanya alleged that Venkatesh had been keeping her away from government programs by not informing her or her followers. This resulted in tension and pushing among Lavanya’s supporters, leading to police intervention. The incident occurred during a time when the party wanted harmonious relations between legislators and the cadre, especially in an election year.
