A victim’s escape led Visakhapatnam Cyber Crime Police to uncover a network of cyber criminals exploiting young people from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. These individuals were promised high-paying jobs but were trafficked to Cambodia for cyber crimes.

The scam was orchestrated by consultancy agents who promised data entry jobs but sent recruits to Chinese-run companies in Cambodia, Myanmar, and Bangkok.

Chukka Rajesh, the mastermind behind the operation, was contacted by Santosh from Cambodia in 2023 to supply individuals skilled in computers and English for jobs. The recruits were forced into cyber crimes involving transferring money and luring people into scams.

Rajesh facilitated the travel of 27 individuals to Cambodia in 2023, sending around 150 people to Cambodia and Bangkok through various agents. Victims were detained, trained in cyber crimes, and mistreated if they resisted.

The victims, from various locations, were coerced into cyber crimes with threats and false promises. They received only 1% of their earnings, while the companies kept the rest for illicit activities.

Visakhapatnam Police Commissioner A Ravi Shankar revealed that the investigation began after a victim’s escape exposed the network. The primary suspect, Chukka Rajesh, along with his sub-agents Sabbavarapu Kondalarao and Mannena Gnaneshwar Rao, were arrested.

Anyone deceived by such agents should contact Cyber Crime Inspector K. Bhavani Prasad at 9490617917.
