On Tuesday, a group of candidates who took the Group-I Main exams raised concerns about unfair grading. They claimed that those who wrote the exam in Telugu medium received lower marks compared to those who wrote in English medium.

The aspirants pointed out that candidates who chose English got much higher scores. They said this was especially unfair to rural students, who often prefer writing in their native language.

    Key Complaints:

    – Some candidates who took the Economics paper noticed that similar answers were graded very differently.
    – For example, while some candidates received 91 marks, others who studied just as hard scored only 70 marks in the same subject.
    – In paper-VI, senior candidates who wrote in Telugu got only 60 marks, whereas English medium candidates scored between 80 and 90 marks.

The affected candidates have written a formal letter to TGPSC Chairman Burra Venkatesham. They have requested that their answer sheets be re-evaluated and recounted, as they believe the marking process was biased in favor of English medium candidates.
